| Ilpo Väisänen (of Pan sonic) and Dirk Dresselhaus (of Schneider TM) have been playing freeform noise with a tendancy to drone things out since 1999. The whole thing is quite a noman`s landish affair : somewhere between and in the middle of industrial, dub, new music, fieldrecordings, indierock, blues and science fiction soundtracks. Up to now they have released two live-cds: Angel, Bip_Hop 2002 and Angel & Hildur Gudnadottir – In Transmediale, Oral 2006. Together with Hildur Gudnadottir (Lost In Hildurness, Mum, Mr. Schmuck’s Farm) they also recorded the studio-album ‚Kalmukia’, that came out as cd / notebook on Editions Mego and digital release on MWM (http://mirrorworldmusic.com/music/angel-kalmukia) in early 2008. The borders being pushed even further : oscilators and effect feedbacks meet slide guitar, cello, zither and metal springs. Besides occasional collaborations with the likes of Strings Of Conscioussness, the latest release is the first studio-album of the duo named ‚Hedonism’ (http://mirrorworldmusic.com/music/angel-hedonism), which they recorded between 2004 and 2007 at Dirk’s Constructionsite Studios in Berlin as well as at Ilpo’s summer-cottage near Kuopio, Finland and contains not only typical sounds, atmosphere and noises of these two contrary locations. The current live-set of the duo is partly based on the Hedonism sessions and free improvisations. The current live-set of the trio (feat.
