Born on March 19th 1971 in Hagen, Barbara Morgenstern lives in Berlin since 1994, working as electronic musician, composer and choir conductor.
Since 1998, she has released 7 solo albums at the Berlin based label Monika Enterprise, accompanied by numerous live performances.
In 2003/2004 Barbara Morgenstern was invited by Goethe Institute to play a world tour with 34 stops.
Since June 2007, she is leading the "Choir of World Cultures" at House of World Cultures in Berlin.
They collaborated with: Arto Lindsay, Planning To Rock, Harmonia, Mocky, Meridian Brother, The Lappetites, Tomi Simatupang, Van Dyke Parks, Roedelius, Sam Lee etc.
On January 15th, 2016 Barbara Morgenstern and the choir performed „Lautarchiv“ at the festival „Singing War“ at House of World Cultures, Berlin, a collective composition by Ari Benjamin Meyers, Hauschka and Barbara Morgenstern based on recordings of prisoners from German prison camps during World War One.

She regularly works with the theater directors group Rimini Protokoll:

Since 2001 she is part of the project „barner 16“ in Hamburg, a project which works with handicapped musician where she produces „Stille Vann“, the female group of “barner 16”.
