"To call her the most important woman in the Austrian electronic scene would be an insult: Electric Indigo long ago reached a level where conventional gender definitions are obsolete. As a DJ, she enjoys international rank, and as a producer she's becoming even more influential."
(Sven Gaechter, Editor-in-Chief of Profil magazine and DJ)

Susanne Kirchmayr aka Electric Indigo works as international DJ and musician. She has performed in 35 countries in Europe, Asia, North and South America. Her name stands for an intelligent interpretation of the terms techno, party, and electronic music. Anton Waldt, publisher of the DE:BUG magazine describes her as an update of the man-machine music idea: the combination of human funkiness and a non-stop running 808*. Electric Indigo’s music oscillates in the imaginary triangle Berlin-Detroit-Chicago: syncopated rhythms, distinctive bass lines and the concise use of melodic elements. She has created an international network of women in electronic music called female:pressure and loves to experiment with parallel levels of information not only when she made features for TV or radio stations. Institutions like the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, the University of Fine Arts Vienna, and the University of Applied Arts Vienna commonly invite Electric Indigo as a guest lecturer. She runs her own record label indigo:inc and presents a monthly internet radio show at http://play.fm. 2010, after composing for the Austrian EXPO pavilion and several remixes [for Tok Tok and temp~records, a. o.] she has developed a new project together with Burkhard Stangl and Annelie Gahl as a result of an invitation by the composer’s forum Mittersill in September 2010. Currently, she is working on the production of the “Viva la Pappa” album with Pia Palme and Jorge Sánchez-Chiong that will be released on Idyllic Noise in spring 2011. Her next solo EP is planned for March 2011 on indigo:inc recordings.
