As a pioneer of a new DJ generation Manuela Krause was one of the first DJ’s in Berlin who left her turntables behind. She is a DJ with a conceptual approach who can be heard either in a club or in an art context, playing in clubs, art galleries and exhibitions all over the world. She is an active member of the Berlin club and music scene as a DJ, event promoter, musician and radio presenter since 1992. From 1995 - 2003 resident DJ at WMF Club Berlin, presenting her own first event - “Solitaire Touring”, a platform to introduce unknown electronic music artists from Russia and Eastern Europe, like for example SCSI-9 and Solar X from the legendary Moscow label arT-Tek”. “Solitaire Touring” was also her very first net radio show in 1996 on orang, orang.org. Since 2008 Manuela is running the label Brumtone with her friend August Engkilde from Denmark and has started her own music and entertainment company “Urban Peas”, organizing regular electronic music events at unusual places of the city, like an empty swimming pool on an urban camping site in the heart of Berlin (Tentstation). Her monthly “Urban Peas Radio” sessions can be heard on Brumtone and also on her own web page.
