| Ljiljana Petkovic grew up between coal mines and coal-fired power plants in a tiny Westphalian village called: Bockum Hövel. When she was 16 Ljiljana got a marriage proposal but she decided to study. Her lover married her best friend instead and from now on they lived happily in a town house next to his Mum.... Ljiljana went to Cologne for studies. One night there was a guy at her door and asked her friendly with a dry ruffled voice: "Lady, can you fry me a Schnitzel?" She refused because she had no meat at home but the guy had one piece of raw veal in each of his dirty pockets in his trousers.... Fuzzi, once a well situated doctor, who lived on the streets of Cologne with his old Indian blanket and a big black hat got his fried Schnitzel and offered his blanket in return. Maybe Ljiljana would have accepted it if she had known what was going to happen next. Fuzzi left a another gift - a big "brown" gift - on her doormat and unfortunately her roommate, a lawyer with a spleen for expensive handmade Italian leather shoes, stepped right into it the next morning! He freaked out completely! Luckily Ljiljana was able to escape to Berlin where his evil curse had no more power..... Under different names she started a colourful new life, performing as a "transvestite" in Caspar's Camp and Cafe Moscow, working as a blues singer with a piano player at Berlin's famous store KDW (the shoe department...), dancing as "Sally Bowls" in a techno adaption of the famous Broadway musical, playing a starring role in a movie called "Zuckerstücke" (shown at Berlinale), spinning music as a resident DJ at WMF club hosting her own event series: Solitaire Touring, a platform to promote unknown electronic musicians from Eastern Europe, doing spiritual cleanings at houses with bad vibes, washing hair at a hairdresser who recommended his female customers to use hemorrhoid cream against crows feet, working as a radio presenter doing a Swing and The Morning show, releasing music on Superstar, Warner and Monika Enterprise.... just to name a few. One Day Ljiljana got tired of her glamourous life. She was bored of her double life... her living in a fancy apartment with a roof terrace in front the TV Tower, meeting Diplomats at the radio and superstars of the electronic music scene in the club - and disappeared to London. There she was hiding in the Underground for a couple of years until she found herself. When she returned to Berlin she got her first German Chanson album in her pocket: "Hinter dem Spiegel", then founded the label "Brumtone" with her friend August Engkilde and started her own company: "Urban Peas": Last but least, she decided to stop calling herself funny names but went back to her birth name: Ljiljana Petkovic. (In case you know the lawyer with the Italian shoes give him a "ThanX for all!" - seriously!) Currently Ljiljana is busy working on her new album - dark electronic ambient minimal rock folklore! Musician / Singer / Actress : Manuela Krause has a cabaret, musical and acting background. She used to sing and dance in various projects, like “Cabaret 2010” - a techno adaptation of the famous Broadway musical “Cabaret” where she played the starring role of Sally Bowls. One of her past projects was the voice and piano project “Noujohama” with Hajo Dierichsweiler, former piano player of Melitta Sundstroem. Together they played an unforgettable Debut in 1994 at the “Metropol” in Berlin for the famous Gay Teddy Award. The Duo appeared with their music in “The real world, Berlin” on Premiere and made the soundtrack for the ZDF Documentary: “Life is a cabaret”. These days Manuela is a member of Barbara Morgensternʼs Chor der Kulturen der Welt, where she sings tenor and bass and she is busy with her brand new project : Ljiljana Petkovic Orchestra. Ljiljana Petkovic is the personification of Manuela's Slavic soul, which she inhabited from her mother who provided her with at least 50 % of Bosnian blood, a fiery temper, a strong passion for music and rhythm and her “Melancholia”. Since 2008 Manuela is running the label “Brumtone” with her friend August Engkilde from Denmark and she started her own music and entertainment company “Urban Peas”, organizing regular electronic music events at unusual places of the city, like an empty swimming pool on an urban camping site in the heart of Berlin (Tentstation).
